Managing mental health in the workplace can be a daunting and challenging prospect with many people admitting that they don’t know where to start. However, most people understand that there is a legal, financial and moral case for tackling this important topic.
HSE is the regulator for majority of business activity in the minerals product sector. The new HSE 10-year strategy, ‘Protecting People and Places’, could not be more explicit in terms of HSE’s focus on managing a worsening trend of ill health with a particular focus on managing mental health and stress.

This 1-hour webinar, being held on dates in November and January, aims to provide an introduction to the topic and signpost resources that will assist employers and employees alike.
The webinar will be presented by Dawn Collins.
Dawn has a background in psychology and worked in the field of mental health for over 20 years, from hospital environments to local voluntary organisations.
For the past 8 years, Dawn has been self-employed as Director of a training/wellbeing company working across industries, with UK and global clients to develop strategy and policy around mental health and wellbeing, as well as delivering various training programmes.
In addition, Dawn is a part time lecturer, a workplace associate for Mental Health First Aid England and a freelancer for BBC’s global health, safety, security and resilience academy.
Dawn will address the following topic areas:
