Mineral Planning at a Crossroads
This year’s Minerals Planning Conference will be held in London and online on 15 June 2023.
A range of expert speakers will give their perspectives on this year's theme:
Minerals planning is at a crossroads, with a range of issues and challenges facing the profession over the coming years. The need for better strategic planning appears to be widely accepted, with government considering reviewing the need for Guidelines for aggregates provision and re-energising national coordination, but planning reforms appear to offer little to help.
Lindsey Richards, RTPI Vice President will open the conference and the keynote will be delivered by Dr Karen Hanghøj, Director of the British Geological Survey.
This will be followed by sessions on:
- Environment and Heritage
- Planning Reform and Minerals
- Legal Update
- Planning Practice and Implementation
Further details of the programme, the speakers presenting and how to book are available from the conference website: www.rtpi.org.uk/events/2023/june/minerals-planning-conference
